Dead Poets to play WOW Hall
Hard rock group Dead Poets So
ciety will be performing at psyche
delic rock band King Black Acid’s
CD release party for “The Mothman
Prophecies” motion picture sound
track on Feb. 23 at WOW Hall.
Dead Poets Society is a local elec
tronic-goth act whose performance
follows the Jan. 8 release of their
second album, “Deprogramming.”
In addition to releasing two full
length albums, the group remixed
Depeche Mode’s “I Feel Loved”
tracks and Madonna’s “Deeper and
Deeper” record.
“It’s like we’re the ‘soundtrack
band opening band,”’ keyboardist
and vocalist Raven Nightshado
said, referring to a recent perform
ance with The Dragonflies, who
had a song on the “Sugar and
Spice” movie soundtrack. “It’s real
ly cool. I think it’s great that King
Black Acid is finally receiving the
national attention they deserve.
They are a great band with a very
unique sound.”
KWVA’s “Dark Waters” show,
which airs Mondays from 9-11
p.m., has recently started spin
ning the Dead Poets’ newest sin
gle, “Synners.”
WOW Hall’s doors open at 9
p.m., and the show begins at 9:30
p.m. Admission is $8 at the door.

S REASONS TO STUDY IN
TAMPERE# FINLAND
1. In Finland, the world’s most protected natural environment thrives as part-of a
modern EU economy. Nestled between the Nordic countries and Russia, Finland
is full of cultural and architectural wonders and is home to some of the most
pristine scenery you’ll find.
3. Tampere offers many courses in English.
(We hear the Finnish classes are good, too!)
4. Students can use their UO financial aid
for expenses in Tampere.
5. Students earn UO credit for courses
completed at Tampere.
Application forms and Tampere program information
available at the Office of International Programs, 330
Oregon Hall. Or contact program coordinator Roger
Adkins, 346-0518, radkins@oregon.uoregon.edu.
2.
On the UO program at the University of Tampere, most students spend about the
same amount (including airfare) as they would here at the UO. In a direct
exchange program between the UO and the University of Tampere, UO students
pay no tuition to Tampere. A UO study abroad fee
(currently $400 per term) applies.
0 Hurry! Application deadline
g is Friday, March 1!
Finland, completed in 1997.
