WORKSHOPS
The EMU Craft Center is a comprehensive Arts Program offering
well equipped facilities and workshops in most areas of the Visual Arts.
The program is both educational and recreational, encouraging all
levels of interest, from beginning hobbyist to serious artist. Our
intimate, informal workshops are taught by accomplished artists and
crafts people. The emphasis is on high quality individual instruction
designed to encourage you to pursue your creative side. Most work
shops are offered in the late afternoon or evening to fit your class or
work schedule. We also offer $5 introductory workshops (see back page
for listing). So, if you have an interest in art, or a favorite hobby, the
EMU Craft Center at the University of Oregon is for you.

Advanced Casting

This class will cover advanced techniques in
jewelry casting. We'll fabricate a basic metal
framework and then create sculptural wax forms
to cast as a single unit. Advanced carving and
wax properties will be discussed. Knowledge of
basic fabrication and casting is required.

Explore the traditional Japanese art of Arashi
"pole wrap" resist dyeing. Experiment with
combinations of pleating, ruching , and folding
fabric onto poles, then dyeing with fiber reactive
dyes. Some materials provided. Extra scarves

Speed Quilting
