chance to win the game,” Kent said
of Ridnour, guard Freddie Jones
and others, who almost clawed
their wav from behind to victory
Tuesday.
Ridnour and Jones provided the
emotion for the Ducks Tuesday
night. Ridnour made three-pointer
after throe-pointer, and he tried to
pump up his teammates after each
one, yelling “Let’s go!” and “C’
mon!”
Kent summed up his view on the
end of the exhibition schedule per
fectly.
“It was a good game for us to
play,” Kent said. “So we can go
back to the drawing board and
work on some things.”
Oregon will tip off its regular sea
son tonight, and the game against
the Delta Devils will be the first to
count towards the Ducks’ overall
record.

than it has all season. Shooting
guard Jamie Craighead tweaked a
knee in the first half against the
NWBL Elite and hardly played in
the second half. After the game,
team officials mentioned a possible
MRI but weren’t sure if the injury
would require one.
If indeed Craighead can’t play, it
will mean a suddenly increased role
forguard/forward Lindsey Dion, who
was planning on a slow but steady re
turn from torn knee cartilage.
“I think the plan is to let me play a
little more this weekend,” Dion
said. “I think I have a sense of ur
gency because I want to be out there
with every tick of the clock. ”
‘‘They need to bring it,” Wolvert
said, referring to the guards. “They
have to be more effective on offense
and we all have to be more consis
tent.”

Stanford cruised to a 15-5 victory
in game three, giving it the match,
3-0.
In the last Pac-10 match of the
year, Oregon travels to Berkeley
tonight to take on the California
Golden Bears (10-15, 5-12), another
team that needed five games to de
feat the Ducks earlier in the season.
The Bears lost to Oregon State — a
team the Ducks have beaten — 3-2
Thursday night.
Banducci has said that she des
perately wants to finish her career
in a Duck uniform with a victory. A
win would give Oregon its most vic
tories since the 1996 season, when
the Ducks were 11-20 overall.

Horoscope by Linda C. Black
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 17). This year
your assignment is to obey authority gracefully
and to assume authority with confidence.
They're flip sides of the same coin. The pres
sure you're under in November inspires you to
make domestic changes. Find the finances
you'll need in December and learn how to do it
in January. Plan renovation or relocation for
February. Earlier work pays off in April. Heed
your partner's wisdom in May. Leave your
treasure hidden in June. Travel in July leads to
new responsibilities in August. Write up what
you've accomplished and accept accolades in
September.
To get the advantage, check the day's rating: 10
is the easiest day, 0 the most challenging.
ARIES (March 21-April 19) — Today is a 6
— A lucky break can help you connect with
somebody you care about. This person is far
away and may have been difficult to contact.
Schedule a date or vacation together later.
Make plans for a meeting with friends, too,
next week.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20) — Today is a 7
—You could be tom between working late and
getting home early. You'd rather be with family,
but this could pay well. That check that's been
"in the mail" for months could show up soon,
but don't rely on it alone.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21)—Today is a 5 —
You'll find it difficult to travel, even though
you'd like to go. Your friend would like you to
visit, too. Errands take longer than expected.
Set your date for this weekend at your house.
You're more likely to make that happen.
CANCER (June 22-July 22) — Today is a 6
— Neither a borrower nor a lender be. Don't
make big investments in the market and don't
buy things that are on sale, unless you're sure
the quality meets your expectations. You could
waste your money now. Instead, leave it where
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)—Today is a 6 —You
may feel like you're all alone, with nobody on
your side. Your partner or male thinks quite dif
ferently on an important topic. Try looking at
if from over there, and you'll understand better.
That tactic might be effective at work, too.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)—Today is a 7 —
Be open to suggestion. Plans you've recently
made will have to be modified. You didn’t an
ticipate certain conditions. Talk with a person
who's done this job before so you can see fur
ther ahead. It's good to have a friend like that.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct 22) — Today is a 6—A
meeting with friends comes to a standstill. No
body agrees, but they sure have a lot of inter
esting reasons. Get everything talked out, even
if it feels like you're spinning your wheels.
Take notes and help the others weigh the pros
and cons.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) — Today is a 6
— Choose your words carefully to convince
the others that you're correct. It'll be tough.
People feel stubborn, including you. The
chances of bringing others over to your side are
good. Don't give up. Stay calm and state your
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) —Today
is a 7 — A person who's far away can give you
good advice and a couple of great ideas. Write
it all down, even if you can't think of a use for it
right now. Changes are unfolding before your
eyes. Pay attention so you'll be ready.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)—Today isa
6 — A lot of money's going out, and some is
staying in your pocket. Unexpected costs will
dwindle your profits to nothing if you don't
make an effort to hold onto some loot. Don't let
it all slip through your fingers.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)—Today is a 5
—You're pretty sure you're right, but you're not
getting much agreement. Even your partner is
arguing. He or she is being too emotional. An
older person can be placated, but that might
cost you more than this whole deal is worth.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) — Today is a 7
— A new idea you want to try might not work
as well as planned. Take care. Watch for techni
cal difficulties. Figure out what's most likely to
break and fix it before it does. Now, that would
make you look very good!
