All this congruity in the offense
has allowed Boiler to find his niche
in the system.
“With all these things develop
ing, he's starting to grow,” Holmoe
said of his sophomore quarterback,
who threw a career-high 349 yards
against Oregon State. “These things
— one, two and three — didn't oc
cur last year, so it made it very hard
for him to come. Now that these
things are coming, he's coming.”
Though the Bears have no shot at
making a bowl appearance, Holmoe
is not looking past the final two
games of the season.
“We want to win the last two
games, regardless of whether there's
a bowl game or not,” Holmoe told
the San Francisco Examiner.
“There's no conscious effort to try to
play younger players... Some of the
guvs that might be second or third
team, we're not going to play them
for the sake of the future right now. ”
