reserved space at Gerlinger Pool on the UO Campus for five skill builder sessions.
Instruction is not provided so bring a friend who can help you with your roll. Hone
those skills and then join an OP river trip. Small pool means space will fill fast.
Reserve your spot by prepaying at the O.P. Office. Discount for prepaying for all five
sessions. Pool Session: $3 UO students and Co-op members, $5 General Admission,
$3 O.P. Kayak Rental (first-come basis).

Become an OP trip initiator: it’s easy! The first night covers OP philosophy, liability, trip
12 planning, and procedures. Saturday we’ 11 go over equipment, bam, vehicles, safety and
more, then do a short fun river trip on the McKenzie. Attendance at both sessions is
required to become a river trip initiator. If you can’t go boating on Saturday, you can still
come for the morning Bam session. Cost: $12 for river trip.

something that we at the Outdoor Program strive to impress upon our trip
- / participants. In a further effort to promote environmental ethics while traveling
along trails and rivers we have joined forces with Leave No Trace Inc (LNT). The
LNT west coast training team will share the nuts and bolts of low impact travel and
teach us how to share environmental ethics with others. Free!

Oct whde America was gripped in the controversy surrounding a young, Cuban boy
named Elian, three UO students were cycling the countryside of his homeland
gaining new perspectives on politics, food, music, and people. Photojoumalist and
former OP staff member Chris Taylor will enliven the UofO campus when he
recreates the sights and sounds of this beautiful island and it’s people. Free!
