Sewn Board Books

This structure, based on ancient Coptic
and Ethiopic bindings, was developed by
book conservator and innovator Gary
Frost. The completed book looks like a
case bound book. The boards however
are actually folios of card stock, and are
sewn on as the outermost sections of the
book. The cloth spine wrapper, cover
papers, and endsheets are attached with
a minimum of glue. 4 hrs. of instruction.
