The duo led the Pirates in scoring this season; Lane conributing
15.4 points per game, while Halloway brought 13.4 ppgto go
with his 5.3 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. Seton Hall lost to
No. 2 seed St. Johns in the Big East Tournament semifinals, 66

Seton Hall also beat Syracuse on the road during Big-East Confer
ence play. Head coach Tommy Amaker is in his third year at the
helm, and boasts a career record of 50-39 during his tenure.

UAB’s (University Alabama-Birmingham) women’s basketball
team has won six of its last seven games. The Lady Blazers are led
by Deanna Jackson, who scores 18.6 points per game. Jackson
recorded 22 double-doubles this season in addition to becoming
the 16th women’s player in school history to score more than
1,000 points. Jackson also broke the school record for total re
bounds in a single season, with 349.
Seniors Lisa Jackson and Holly Holland also average double fig
ures, putting up more than 10 points per contest. Junior forward
Mia Thrash scores 11.1 ppg.

The Temple Owls have won five Atlantic-10
Conference titles in a row. This year’s appear
ance marks the 11th straight time the Owls
have been in the NCAA tournament. Last sea
son Temple made it to the Elite Eight.
Chaney’s squad bled by an experienced
group of seniors including juan ‘Pepe’
Sanchez, Lament Barnes and Quincy Wadley,
who is second on the team in scoring, aver
aging 12.7 ppg. Sanchez leads the team in as
sists at 8.3 per game and was named At
lantic-10 Conference player of the year.

ond consecutive trip to the NCAA
tournament after winning the Patriot
League championship tournament.
They finished the regular season with
an 11-1 conference record and in a
tie for first with Navy.
last year, they lost to Miami (Fla.) in

after sweeping through their tournament for
their second-straight conference title. Senior
guard Lawanda Greene is averaging 13.6 points
per game and is one of four seniors including
guard Nicole Dames and guard/forward Yolanda
Daniels and center Mercy Aghedo, who con
tributes nine points and 11 boards per game.
Junior center Leah Cromer adds 8.7 points and
five rebounds per contest.
