UO rugby hopes for another win vs* OSU

Oregon Men’s rugby team (4-0)
faces Oregon State University (3
1) at Corvallis this Saturday. Com
ing off an impressive 20-6 win
against Central Washington (3-1)
on a field that was 20 percent ice,
the Ducks plan the same against
the Beavers, Oregon coach Bob
Snyder said.
“We only let Central Washing
ton advance into our field twice,
and even that shouldn’t have hap
pened,” Snyder said. “As long as
we have the ball, the opponent
won’t.”
Oregon’s defense has been sol
id all season, not letting oppo
nents score a single try. Yet the
Ducks need to prove they can do
the same in the Civil War.
“A lot of pride is involved in
this game [against Oregon State
University], and the result will
also affect the postseason, so it is
very important to win this game,”
Ducks prop Kevin Graham said.
The fact that Oregon has not
won against OSU for 16 straight
years adds to what is an already
an interesting matchup between
the two powerhouses of the
Northwest league. If the Ducks
win they become the Northwest
champions and host the national
tournament on April 1st.
The mens’ game starts at 1 p.m.
after the womens’ game at 11 a.m.
in Corvallis.
