After a tough road trip to start
the season, the women’s tennis
team returns for a month-long
home stand.
The Ducks opened the season
with consecutive losses to top
ranked Stanford and No. 3 Cali
fornia.
Now No. 49 Oregon will play
10 dual matches in the next five
weeks, including six Pacific-10
Conference matchups. And al
though the Ducks will have their
hands full with four nationally
ranked teams, this weekend’s op
ponents figure to be the least
threatening of the group.

“Idaho should come out fight
ing also,” Griffin said. “We’re one
of the bigger teams on their sched
ule so they’ll be excited coming in
here.”
This weekend’s matchups
against the Vikings and the Van
dals “is the other extreme [after]
playing the No. 1 and No. 3 teams
in the nation,” Griffin said.
The Ducks appreciated having
a couple of weeks to regroup after
the losses to Stanford and Cal.
“Our biggest concern right now
is with the health of our team,”
Griffin said. “But we have a deep
team this year, which will help us
a lot.”
