day night, the Oregon men’s
basketball team affirmed
that it is a team to be reck
oned with in the Pacific-10
Conference race this season.
The Beavers, who went 7
2 at home in Pac-10 games
last season, are expected to
be tough again at home and
even to challenge for a berth
in the National Invitation
Tournament, at the very
least.
But the Ducks (10-2
overall, 1.-0 Pac-10)
showed that they are head
and-shoulders better than
their northern neighbors,
even in Oregon State’s
house.
Now, Oregon is set up
perfectly to make itself a
major factor in the Pac-10 ti
tle chase and earn its first
berth in the NCAA Tourna
ment since 1994-95.
