Oct. 9. Faust/Faustus: Duet
for Devils was conceived and
designed by University facul
ty member Leon Johnson por
traying Christopher Mar
lowe’s Dr. Faustus and
Goethe’s Faust as they share
their final hour prior to
damnation. UOMA members
and Universtiy students and
faculty can attend for $6, and
the general public pays $12.
The museum also has an ex
tensive permanent collection
every student should see. Tra
ditional Japanese art includ
ing woodlock prints, Bud
dhist sculpture, textiles,
ceramics, metalwork, hanging
scrolls and painted screens is
especially impressive. There
are also exhibits of early Chi
nese funerary ceramics and a
Chinese Imperial Throne
Room that features woks from
the museum’s’ collection of
Imperial objects from the Qing
Dynasty, including textiles,
furniture, glass and ceramics.
