She would be starting for in jured guard Lisa Bowyer, a senior who leads the team in steals, assists, three-point shoot ing and minutes played. Even when faced with such a daunting challenge, Strange delivered. The 5-foot-10 junior was a key factor in perhaps the biggest win of her Oregon ca reer. Strange tallied 10 points, four re bounds and three steals in the Ducks' win over Stanford — their first win against the Cardinal since 1987. But it was her timing that really mattered. With 13 minutes, 58 seconds remaining in the second half, Strange nailed a jump shot to tie the game at 41, causing mayhem in McArthur Court. “I feel like I’m dreaming,” Strange said. “We were determined to win this game no matter what. And the crowd was like our sixth man. It was an awesome game.” Two drives later, Oregon forward Angeli Turn to STRANGE, Page 12 Center Jenny Mowe (34) and the Oregon bench celebrate the Ducks’ hard-fought victory over Stanford Monday night at McArthur Court.
