Angelina Wolvert recorded two blocked shots and three steals against Wyoming and was
awarded with the tournament's Most Valuable Player honor.

13:13 remaining.
“We were trying to run our of
fense all the way through,”
Wolvert said. “We haven’t had a
chance to do that because of steals
or blocked shots. We played awe
some defense tonight, and our of
fense came from that.”
Wolvert’s performance against
Wyoming was a mirror image of her
performance the day before against
BYU. Wolvert played 30 minutes of
the game, three minutes more than
any other Duck, and was key in the
Ducks’ 74-56 win.
Wolvert converted six of 11 shots
from the field, and with four sec
onds remaining in the first half, she
extended the Ducks’ lead to 38-31
on her lone three-point bucket.
Again, it was Wolvert’s second
half play that helped Oregon
clinch the win.
With 6:41 remaining, Wolvert
stripped the ball from BYU’s Stacy
Jensen and quickly dumped the
ball inside to Brianne Meharry,
who converted the lay-in to ex
tend the Ducks’ lead to 62-47.
“I didn’t expect to be named
MVP,” Wolvert said. “I just want
ed to stick with the game plan and
try to get more open shots. ”
Maybe Wolvert didn’t expect it,
but to the 3,443 fans at McArthur
Court who watched her near perfect
performance, it was no surprise.
