Audience members are asked for a word or a prop to get the game rolling. And once it starts, the four women use their talent and inventiveness to deliver a show that’s not just hilarious but also original. Diane Pergamit, a 44-year-old office manager, first saw Wymprov three years ago at the Eugene Hilton at the suggestion of a friend. She has since been to five more performances. * “The four work really well together,” she said. “They’re very sharp, very quick — the shows are always different.” Jesse Oliver agrees with Pergamit. Oliver is a long-time friend of troupe member Vicki Silvers and just signed on to be the group’s book ing agent. ‘They are incredibly funny,” Oliver said, “and what’s so great about them is that they can take anything you throw at them and turn it into something hilarious.” Troupe member Enid Lefton, who also runs “Life Is An Improv,” a successful venture that offers workshops for businesses, enjoys per forming in the show and gives credit to the audience for making the show the success it is today. She said the Eugene crowd “really likes to laugh, and they are readily with you when you cross over the line — whether it’s intentional or un intentional. “There’s an extra bit of support there.” Silvers said one of the reasons the group works so well together is be cause they’ve been friends for so long. "Our group is like a long-term relationship,” Silvers said. "We’ve learned to live with all the ups and downs.” Wymprov will perform Nov. 15 and 22 at the Lord Leebrick Theatre, 540 Charnelton St. Tickets for the two-hour show can be purchased ahead of time at Mother Kali’s, Hungry Head Books and the EMU Ticket Office for $10 or at the door for $12. Released independently on the Solesides label, fans can also hear the group on “Latyrx: The Album,” a collection of 13 studio tracks and one live recording. The album is an ear-pleasing amalgam of straight rap tunes, frenetic break beats by DJ Shad ow and slow, Southern grooves like the title track. “The main difference between what we were doing at Solesides and what we’re going to do at Quannum is that our perspec tives are going to be a lot broad er,” Lyrics Born told Elixir. “Quannum will include R&B and Rock, and not just hip-hop.” Also on Saturday’s bill is Blackalicious, who appear on the final track of Latyrx’s album. The groups are joined by Port land’s Cool Nutz and the Life savas, and Eugene’s recently re united Organic Compound, as well as DJ Rogue and PSL.
