Cross country Continued from Page 9 course, Davis was in fifth place, but toward the race’s end he made a run at second place. "I feel good; this is a good place to build from,” Davis said. “I kept getting stronger until the end, and I’m looking forward to the 10K. It will be a mile longer, and I’ll run better.” Not one of the Ducks placed outside of the top 20. Steve Fein finished in seventh place with a time of 24:01. Also scoring for the Ducks were Micah Davis in 11th place, Rob Aubrey in 13th place and Greg James in 16th place. Rounding out the team was Lincoln Nehring at 17th place and Andrew Bliss at 19th. The only downside to Oregon’s finish on Saturday is that it will be harder for Dellinger to decide who makes the trip to Fresno, Calif., to compete in the West Regional Championships Nov. 14. “All seven guys will be hard to replace,” Dellinger said. "A couple of guys didn’t get to run, but they may rotate in. The guys today ran tough.” The meet was Dellinger's last home competition after 32 years as head coach of the Ducks. “I feel privileged to have been involved with track over the years,” Dellinger said. “ I know that this is my last season, and 1 know I’m going to miss it,” Dellinger said. “It is special to me, and next year I will be watching.” Stanford won the meet, and Arizona finished in third place with a score of 90. Arizona’s Abdi Abdirahman won the men’s individual title with a time of 23:23.
