    LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Allen misinformed
I commend you for bringing
attention to the HIV/AIDS crisis.
I see that your intentions were
good, but I’m afraid you have
done a great deal of damage by
spreading deadly misinforma
tion. Not only was I grossly mis
quoted, but the author of the
opinion column (ODE, May 29),
Jonas Allen, did not even have a
basic knowledge of HIV testing
procedures.
In the future, please do your
research before taking on the
role of an HIV/AIDS activist. At
your request, I gave two addi
tional sources/contact names
(and looked up their phone
numbers); one at Lane County
Public Health and another at the
HIV Alliance. If you had truly
been interested in accurate in
formation, it seems that you
would have made these con
tacts.
Feel free to come into White
Bird clinic for HIV testing. We
will be happy to fill you in on
the accurate facts.
GinaTormohlen
HIV Counselor
Editor's note: Please see note
accompanying Letters to the Ed
itor (ODE, June 5). Additionally,
Allen states that he attempted to
contact both sources mentioned
by Tormohlen.
DO YOUR
PART.
