they don’t mind.
“In general, they think it’s great
(not to pay $10 at the door], but
they don’t realize they’re paying
in a big way,” she said. “If it’s not
out of their pockets, so-to-speak,
then it’s okay. They’re used to
paying more fees.”
The design and development
stage of the project is currently
done, Lobissor said. They will fin

A comment session and open

“We take all of the comments

Grind ends because
of noise complaints
Eugene police stopped the
Third Annual Oregon Grind half
an hour early Sunday after re
ceiving several noise com
plaints.
Weapon of Choice, the head
lining band, took the stage at 8
p.m. and police arrived at 8:45,
said Debby Martin, Cultural Fo
rum staff member. Police said
they had received several com
plaints and compromised with
Grind coordinators to stop the
concert at 9:30 p.m. instead of
the scheduled 10 p.m.
Eugene’s noise ordinance has
designated quiet hours from 10
p.m. to 7 a.m. Any excessive
noise outside of those hours can
be subject to termination, Martin
said.
The Grind was held on the
field behind McArthur Court for
the first time due to University
administration requests.
The only other problem of the
day was that Chief Broom,
which has a substantial Eugene
following, did not show up. The
tour R.V. broke down in Utah,
Martin said. The spot was filled
by Eugene band The American
Girls.
