In a rer unt phone interview. Morris
spoke about the upi timing tour, which
brings the band to La Lima in Portland
on Aug t, and the musical decisions
that went into putting Oddities.

Morris said their music emphasizes
the absurd side of life He freely admits
that ' whan you're voung it's a lot easier
to get awa.s with things, but when you
reac h a certain age, you reach a wall of
responsibility that comes right up in
your fat
In preparation for the tour. Morris
worries about logistics like the sound
chet ks. works in the studio some days
until r> a in . and then jumps around
onstage, si reaming in the baritone voice
that still ranks him as one of the most
respot ted punk vocalists of all time

the Circle Jerks' st\le that few other
groups are able to match.
