Thank you’ can go a long way
Kris Henri
None of us could have
got ton to where we nri>
today without some
assistance. Sometimes you have
to look back to look ahead
This is one of those times
So often W8 plod through life
without once acknowledging
the efforts of others who have
played key roles in our devel
opment
Those words of encourage
ment go unrecognized and that
all too unpleasant kii k in-the
but! is dismissed without eval
uation. This is a tragic mistake
we all are < ulprits of in this
society of 15-second attention
spans.
But we can all change this
fault in our existence
Thank that mother who gave
all she could to ensure your
happiness The one who treated
you as if you were the most
special person on the planet
and was always there to listen
to your thoughts without lieiiig
judgmental.
Thank that father who never
promised you more than he
could deliver The one whose
insight took you years to dis
cover and who let you he his
friend as well a* hi* son
Thank those step-parents
who took you into their heart*
and homo* without the slight
est concerns The ones who
never gave birth to you or took
you to tins Little league games,
but in their caring have shown
that they accept you as their
child
Thank those siblings who
beat you up as a child, but were
always there to support you
when others doubted your abil
ities The ones who were forced
to raise you as best they knew
how when left alone for seem
ingly endless days The ones
who, through it all, molded
your personality and intulli
gem e through shared experi
ences.
Thank those grandparents
and relatives who saw you only
in fleeting instances. Hut who
nci opted you with open arms
every time The ones who were
needed for a higher cause and
left vour world much too soon
Thank the special friends
who have seen you in your best
and worst moments T he ones
who have brought you to both
tears of laughter ami pain The
ones who share themselves on
the rainy AND sunny days
Thank that special someone
you choose to share yourself
with every day The one that
brings a smile to your face
every time their image creeps
into your brain. The one person
you are truly allowed to choose
as part of your life

Holly Ann VV'erstlein
She contains more beauty
than should be allowed in
today's society Never have I
met a person who genuinely
cures for others and strives to
do all she i an for their behalf as
she diets Her cheery personali

the s(»e< lal person I se«> when 1

More than the woman 1 have

one of nn (loses! 1'riemK .She
has lent an ear to my troubles
and haa made nt i omfortable
in this unfamiliar area called
