On Monday. University stu
dents and staff honored the mem
ory of the great civil rights leader
Martin I,other King Jr by observ
ing the state holiday established
for this purpose I strongly
believe this nation owes a
tremendous amount of respect
and appro* iation to Dr King, and
therefore, I find it not only fitting
but net essary that the Univorsi
ty honor this holiday.

With all that's going on in
sports these days, it's hard to

sports section, let alone the paper

to realize is that his heroes, his
leaders, his role models have
been in plate for hundreds of

narrow view of the cosmos) that

or the "first" female CKO, or a

The spirit of Horatio Alger and
others like him is still needed
