Track teams send five to NCAA meet

to end their seasons on a more positive note when
five Oregon athletes compete at the NCAA Cham
pionships beginning Wednesday in Boise, Idaho

Kelly Blair, Blair will tie defending tier NCAA
championship in the heptathlon, which begins
today with the KHI meter, high jump, shot put and
200 meters
Although she is tiie defending champion in the
heptathlon, Blair holds only the set ond-in-st point

Diane Guthrie has the top point total of the • ■

Blair won the event last season with (i.038
(Hunts Guthrie, who finished third Inst season, has

Also competing today will lie freshman Milena
Chism in the semifinals of the 3,000. In her first
season with the Ducks. Chism holds the fifth lies!
time this season and is the top freshman qualifier
in the event

compete in the semifinals in the 1.500 meters, and

will run again on Saturday
