This weekend. members of Delta Tati Delhi fra
ternity from the University. Oregon State and
Willamette l 'diversity will roll an empty keg to Port
land as u fund raiser for thi* Kidney Asst* iation
of Oregon
Although this event has taken plat e for the past
22 yt rs. this will he tho first time in three years
that the University chapter is involved

Delta "This year, we're going to make a hig come
back.'*
Over the next three days, the empty keg will Ite
rolled approximately 120 miles Each day. 10 fra
ternity members will take their turn rolling the keg
over the prairie and flatlands until it reaches the
final destination of Portland Although this seems
like a long wav to walk. Hot an said it won't lie that
hard hot a use the members will take turns walk
ing and rolling. Also, there will he trut ks along the
route to give them a little extra help

Varney to run for ASUO president

Once leaning toward presi
dential ambitions, ASUO candi
date Joey Lyons has decided to
take a vice presidential backseat
to his runningmate Shannon Var
ney, who will now run for stu
dent government president on the
Varney/Lyons ticket.
In a mid-March interview with
the Emerald. Lyons never actu
ally said he was going to run for
the presidential spot hut didn't
dispute his candidacy when
asked "as president" how he

"That wasn't wrong." Varney
said "We just hadn't made a
decision on that by that time
We never really thought of our
selves as having titles, but
instead as acting as a team "
The decision for Varney to
run for the presidential spot

deciding to run fur the spot in
which they had the must experi
ence.
Lyons' strength was in
