    IFC grants increase for KWVA

KWVA, the campus radio station, was allot ated
a budget of $48.-150 for the 1994-<>5 at adernii year
This is a .15. <4 percent increase from the budget
allocated by the IF( I for the 19!)3 04 year, but it is
only a 18 percent iru rea.se in KWV.Vs operational
budget for the ltlfll 94 year
KWVA went before the 1KC Inst year in the form
of a special request to receive the money that it
bad failed to spend from its budget allocation two
years ago KWVA was granted $11.‘420 which
rolled over into its current operational act mint
Representatives of KWVA said they wen* hap
py with the budget ini rease, despite the fa< t that
they had requested a higher budget
KWVA yvas allocated a large ini reuses in the
area of promotion. Representatives | Pierson and
John Thomas stressed the important e of lining able
to promote the radio station to the community
KWVA has been on tile air suit e May 28. 1991
Thomas said, "KWVA is really a business, it
takes money to make money ” He stressed the
importance of flooding KWVA yvith the finam nil
support whit h will allmv it to meet the goal of

equipment Pierson said that the station is cur

As a result of not owning equipment made for a
radio station, KWVA has been port basing a new
CD plaver every 1 months With the im rense in
student funds alhx ated for equipment ( psts the
station will l>« aide to purchase a CD plaver
designer! for radio use
