Mi Arthur C ourt has been
around for tilt years, and all ol a
sudden this is a new problem-’
Ac t mil I y 1! arose a few weeks ago
and Brooks sent out a statement
saving the seating polii v would
he nil est igated
However, the statement said
Brooks said it would he hard to
make much of an adjustment
with only four home games
remaining on the si liedule. but
that a solution would he reached
prior In the 1994-Hi season
Apparently Brooks didn't feel too
strongly about this, hec ause
under pressure from the puhtii ,
he made the adjustment during
halftime of a game
Su what happens next1’ The
athlete department wall proba
bly try to rope off the final two
rows of the student sei turn lor
the final home games, hut it can't
Students paid for them, and by
no means 1 an the department

iinc) sil in Brooks seats If Brooks
lieheves it's legal to take away the
students' seats, it must he legal
to take his seats as well.
As for next vear. Brooks and
the athletic department must
come to an agreement with the
AM O on student seats In the
previously mentioned statement
.1 few weeks ago. Brooks said.
We want our students seated on
the floor to add to the hones ourt
advantage vveenjov That vs ill tie
taken into serious i onsideration
Read between the lines; the
athletic department is making no
commitment to keeping those
good seats for the students Last
vear the athletic department
wanted to take the floor seats
awav from the students and move
them upstairs That wav they
i ould sell the floor seats for more
monev to the general public
Once again, money talks and
students walk — all the wav

now anjov
\\ hen the AM () and athlete
department negotiate seats again
this year, the department will trv
to do the same thing. It is up to
President Bowen to ensure tins
doesn't happen The athletic
department has shown it doesn't
(.are about students, hut the
AM () must not allow the depart
ment to shove us aside.
I he first half of .Naturdijv's

I was pushed 10 rows up into an
