the 5 i mark of tlx* first period,
after receiving a pass from
Adams. (dendomn took it in and
scored on a wrist shot. At the
end of the first period, the score
was 21 as the Vandals scored
lute in the period
The Vandals, still riding high
after their first goal, picked up
another goal by tapping the
puck past a diving Densmore at
the 11 -1H mark of the second
period to tie the game 2-2 For
the next 11 minutes, the two
teams battled back and forth to
take the lead In one instance.
Densmore s stu k was knocked
uway from him. hut he still came
up with three saves in a row.
With less than one minute left
in the period. C lendenin picked
up Ins second goal. The Dm ks
were taking a flourish of shots
and (.lendemn was there n. slap
thr puck home off of an Adams'
shot that rang off the crossbar.
For the rust of the game, the
Ducks were in control, and with
six minutes left in the game.
C.lendenin picked up his first
ever hat trick
"I think it was the new jer
seys. ' C.lendenin said jokingly.
In the second game. Idaho was
looking for revenge as the Van
dals went out to a 2-0 load into
the middle of the second period.
After they went ahead 2-0, the
Ducks received their wake-up
call.
Oregon started to become
more aggressive and get more
opportunities Within 30 sec
onds of tiie Vandals' second
goal, the Dm ks had put one in
the back of their opponents' net
Adams rei eived a pass from
Oregon forward Seth Prouser,
who had two assists the night
before, and flipped the puck
into tiie right side of tiie net For
llit* remainder of the period, the
Ducks were on the offensive.
Adams scored again along with
Oregon forward Steve Melker
son to take a .'t-2 lead going into
the final period.
In the third period, the Van
dals answered hack. At the
1 f>:25 mark. Idaho's Bill Camp
bell tipped the puck through the
five hole of Bahts. Adams, just
one goal short of the hat trick,
was not to lie denied. Adams got
all alone on the right side and
fired the howitzer into the goal.
Once again, though, the Van
dals answered. With five min
utes remaining, Idaho’s Scott
Squires had tied the game at 4-4,
and that was how it would end.
Now that the Ducks have a
win under their belt, they're
hoping to close in on a winning
record as they travel to Califor
nia to face off against Stanford.
