Brenda and Rob started talking marriage only
one month after being introduced at a party 2 1/2
years ago But they've managed to wait until June
25, 1994 for the big day What first attracted the
young couple to each other? “There's never a dull
moment with Brenda,” says Rob “Right away we
could sit and talk for hours, endlessly."
The actual proposal came on March 8, 1993 to a
little less than surprised Brenda Rob had hidden
the engagement ring under the floor mat of
Brenda's car Needless to say she stumbled upon it
and confronted Rob on the spot “I had plans to
take her somewhere romantic, but she caught me
by surprise and I had to ad lib," confesses Rob But
Brenda fondly remembers Rob proposing on bend
ed knee that evening in his apartment.
Brenda and Rob are University of Oregon stu
dents preparing to graduate soon Rob is a political
science major graduating in March 1994 and
Brenda is a recreation and tourism management
major graduating in June 1994. Rob is also a mem
ber of the Chi Psi fraternity and gave Brenda his pin.
Brenda and Rob are planning on a traditional
ceremony in Eugene. Lewis and Pat Heimbigner will
be giving the bride away. Sharon and Aden White
will be in attendance for the groom. Kari
Hofmeister will be the maid of honor alongside
Brenda's sister Tamara Schubert and friends Andrea
Veale and Heather Leake. Jason Jones will be the
best man. Brenda and Rob dream of a honeymoon
in Jamaica but will settle for Baja.
What is Brenda's advice to brides-to-be? "It's
never too early to start planning," says Brenda "I
started planning last June and found that in order
to get what you want reserved you should start as
early as you can."
Good luck!
