The Heidi Chronicles, wrilten by Wendy Wnsserstein, opens this week at the University's Kobinson Theatre on today and intends to answer this very question. The Heidi Chronicles exam ines the progress of a genera tion affected by the political upheaval of the 1960's, identity questions of the lf)7()'s and the success oriented politics that went on throughout the 1980's The play's director, Jack Watson, professor of theater arts, says the plays moves beyond "pop history, it is a chronicle of the past 15 years I he problems of gay rights and issues of tin; 1960‘s "me" gen eration versus the T genera tion of the 1980 s are |ust some of the directions the play lakes l he story line follows the life ol Heidi Holland, played by Jeany Snider. The cast includes Brooke Totman as Susan, Eric Friedman as Peter and Tristan Cooley us Scoop. Heidi moves from one aspect of her life to the next without feeling sure of any one place that she finds herself in.
