■ Oregon Daily Emerald Sports Rookies shine in Ducks’ 83-72 win over Bamberg By Dave Charbonneau Oregon IXi>V Fmefatd The Oregon men's basketball finally unveiled its new mem bers Tuesday against Bamberg Club at Mi Arthur Court, and they played a large role in lead ing the Ducks to an H:t-72 win The game was a non-counting contest against the team from Germany, but it was n chance for Oregon head coac h Jerry Green to get a look at just how much progress his team made in three short weeks of practice Sis new faces graced the floor for the Ducks, and a few shined in their debut. • Freshman forward Henry Madden exploded to start the sis ond half, scoring 11 straight points and blocking a shot in two minutes to give Oregon its biggest lend of the game at Mad den crashed the boards all night and ended with a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds. • Freshman Kenya Wilkins showed skills at the point guard position that have been sorely lacking at Oregon for the past two years Wilkins scored only two points, but dished out eight assists, had four steals and turned the ball over only onm in 22 minutes of play, Wilkins said that despite bis one of six shooting performance, he was jusl happy to get a chance to play a real game "It was a lot of fun out there." he said "I struggled from the field, but my role is to set up other people to st ore. Scoring doesn't matter to me." • Junior college transfer Dar ryl Parker hit four of seven shots, had four rebounds and finished with 11 points Of the veterans, junior Orlan do Williams looked the best.
