job of containing Oregon State's
option offense, but the Beavers
took advantage of Oregon's mis

game with 217 yards rushing but

in a season." said Oregon State
head coach Jerry Betti bone, who

very loyal, and for them to have
the experience they had this
year, and especially today, to
feel good about being Oregon

Ducks' first possession of the
game.
"He made a great break on the
hall," O'Neil said. "Obviously,
that's a tug no-no, and it hurt us

Oregon killed itself twice in
the first half on separate occa
sions when it inadvertently
touched live halls. First, on the
kickoff after Curry's touchdown,

Two possessions later, Oregon
State punter Tim Kolias shanked
a 28-yard punt, hut the hall
bounced and hit Oregon's Brian
Collins, and the Beavers recov
ered at the Oregon 47-yard line.
Oregon State didn't score on
either possession, hut the plays
took away good field possession
and momentum from the Ducks.

Ducks, Beavers reflect
on another Civil War

Oregon Slate's seniors were
carried off the field after the
Heavers heat Oregon on Sat
urday. but they weren't the
ones doing most of the talk
ing afterward.
With a few notable excep
tions. Oregon State was rep
resented by juniors and
underclassmen at its
postgame press conference
They were relishing a win
and an end to a successful
season They were also eye
ing next season, knowing
they have a young team and
feeling they have plenty of
potential to fulfill
"We can top this next year.
We have a lot to look forward
to. a lot of improvements to
make, a lot of work to do,”
Oregon State quarterback
Rahim Muhammad said.
Both teams were looking
hack on their seasons after
the Civil War game. While
Oregon State considered its
year a success, Oregon had
plenty to regret.
“I feel bad for the seniors,”
Oregon quarterback Danny
O’Neil said. "It's not just this
game This is just kind of the
last deal. We lost to OSU, hut
the whole season has been a
disaster, really
