FROM THE PAST: The Free Speech Platform was
erected in 1963 by the Class of 1963 as a place to give
speeches outside the EMU Fishbowl The platform
proved popular until it was moved a few feet in 1975
when the walk under the EMU was dug. The move left
the Free Speech Platform facing a brick wall of the
EMU and its popularity died
