Sl.RP (Student Loan
Repayment Program) to help
pay off student loans you take
out as a part of your financial
aid I"he government will pay
$500 or 15% (whichever is
more!) plus accrued interest
each year on your student loans.
If used properly this can mean
up to a $ 10,000 value to you

The battalion is know n as " The
Volunteer*" because wc trace our
history to those Oregon Volunteer
Riflemen who formed a militia in lS-O
after the Whitman Massacre to preside
protection to settlers in the Oregon
Territory
The battalion consists pnmanly
of cin/rn-soldicrs, unselfish and
dedicated Americans who give time and
effort for the protection of the Nation,
the State of Oregon and the community
The unit trains one weekend each month
and two weeks in the summer The unit
concentrates its efforts on its combat
mission, but is prepared to assume state
missions, as ordered by the Governor
Because n is a combat infantry unit, only
men arc assigned to the battalion In the
past few years, the unit has trained in
Korea. Washington. California and
Oregon Next summer, the unit deploys
to Panama to be trained at the Jungle
Warfare School
