loan Garr Hamrick, director of
athletic promotions, said it was
inevitable that students would
have to pay for the once-free
football and men's basketball
tickets.
"With incidental fees being
cut, something was going to
have to give," Garr Hamrick
said "However, all other sport
ing event tickets will still lie free
to students ."
Garr Hamrick said that this
may affect attendance at sport
ing events in the short-run. but
with the promotions and mar
keting "push" of the tickets, she
is sure that the response and
sales will be equal, if not bettor,
than previous years.
"We’ve never actually went
out and canvassed the Univer
sity to sell tickets before," Garr
Hamrick said "We’re going to
set up booths at the UO Street
Kairti and the EMU. set up dis
plays at the bookstore, as well as
visit fraternity and sorority
houses."
There will also bo incentives
for buying tic kets, such as the
Family and Friends Program,
which will enable friends and
family of students to sit in the
student section of home football
games.
For the cost of a general
admission ticket, up to four spe
cial tickets may l>e purchased by
a University student. However,
these tickets an* on an availabil
ity Iwsis only.
Another im entive to buying
student tickets is that you can
now purchase tickets at one
time for an entire group. A Uni
versity student may purchase
tickets for several students if a
current University identification
card and S2 is provided for each
ticket purchased
Season student tickets for
football and men's basketball are
