could show up with Bobby and Sissy and
these dancers” would be jumping around
like they were trying to stand straight in an
earthquake.
You get the feeling everyday is hemp day
for most of these folks. What these people
really need is soap appreciation day. Of
course, it would prolvibly die for lack of atten
dance Maybe there's a wav to make soap out
of hump We could kill two birds with one
stone.
So anyway, if you really, really like Pearl
lain, you'll probably get a kick out of Dropped.
You can just pretend it's a new release from
Eddia Vadder and his liand that's much belter.
‘King Lear’ finds niche
in contemporary life
William Shakespeare's King
h‘ar is a powerful play of betray
al. evil, love and redemption.
Robert Barton, department head
of the University's theater arts
program, said he ( hose to direct
this play because of its timeless
ness.
"There are countless contempo
rary reverberations in this great
play.” he said "It is about the
confusion we all feel when the old
order isn’t working and we des
perately stab at the new.
'll reflects a time of moral bank
ruptcy. The good news is the play
helps us to see in new ways. In
the world of King Lear, there is
reason in madness, vision in
blindness, outcasts can return and
compassion is where one least
expects it."
The play runs May 2H and 2!)
and June 4 and 5. Tickets, $H lor
the general public and $4.50 for
students and senior c itizens, are
available at the University Theatre
box office
