Women cruise in Boise meet

The Oregon women's track team remained unde
feated in team competition tins season as (fie
Ducks out scored Weber State. Boise State and Col
orado State in a four-way meet Saturday in Boise
Oregon won despite the absence of kelly Blair,
who remained in Eugene resting a back injury The
injury isn't expected to force Blair to miss the
Pacific-10 Conference multi-event championships
this week.
LaReina Wooda ran the 100-meter sprint in a
wind-aided 11.59 for a narrow victory over team
mate Camara Jones, who finished in 11.62. Both
times are NCAA provisional qualifying marks.
Jones returned later in the meet to win the 200
meter sprint in 23.80.
While gusting winds aided the sprinters, the
conditions slowed the distance runners Duck run
ners still dominated, however, ns Nicole Wood
ward won the 1,500-meter run and Jenna Carlson
won the 3.000-meter. In fact. Oregon swept the top
three places in the 3.000. us Nianth Zwagerman
and Heidi Van BorkuRi-Goldstein took second and
third, respectively.
Erika Klein was able to record an NCAA provi
sional qualifying time in the 800 hv dm king a
2:0B 14 to take ond behind Weber State's Shaw

shot put for the second week in a row Be< k s shot

NCAA meet in the dist us by throwing 16710 at
the Drake Relays, won the event in Boise by more
than 20 feet by throwing 160 1
The Oregon 4x400-meter relay avenged an ear
ly season loss to Welter State bv winning in i 4ri 4
The 4x100-meter relay team also won. giving l.isa
Bedwell and Jamilo Codfrev two relav wins for the
day.
The Ducks dominated the javelin, taking the top
four places Ashley Selman won the event in 100
1. closely followed by teammates Toma Both.
