It's a rare occasion when Ore
gon's track program is consid
ered to lie in a rebuilding phase
After finishing fifth in the
NCAA Championships and sec
ond in the i’a< ific-10 Conference
last season, the Ducks lost a cast
of seniors who accounted for all
iff points earned bv the team at
the NCAAs.
Hut the word "rebuilding"
could he too harsh u description
of what Oregon faces this sea
son. A more appropriate word
might be "reloading."
"We cover all events with our
returning athletes,” said head
coach Bill Dellinger
Despite its point losses from
the NCAAs. Oregon is returning
seven scorers from the Puc-10
meet. Sprinter Ronnie Harris,
hurdler Grady O'Connor and dis
tance runner Tracy Hollister are
all coming off fourth-place fin
ishes at the Pac-lOs last year
