73 Thursday night at Mr.Arthur
Court
The Ducks (3-14. 10-19)
scored the final nine points of

Stanford (2-15, 7-22) cut Ore
gon's lead to two points with
just more than two minutes left
in the game, but foiled to score
another point the rest of the
way. as Oregon hit seven of 10
free throws for the win. The loss
puts the Cardinal in last-place,
where they are likely to stay bar
ring an unlikely win against
Oregon State .Saturday.
"I feel sick about it,” Stanford
head coach Mike Montgomery
said. “It’s been the same thing
oil season We don’t make key
plays at key points in the game.
Oregon deserved to win. They
did a nice job inside and shot
the ball well."
Duck coach lerry Green said
he was happy to finally get out
of the cellar, but don't expect
him to break out the streamers
and party favors.
"I'm not going to spend a lot
of time partying because we fin
ished ninth instead of 10th." ho
said. "But the players are smil
ing. and that's good to see."
Stanford built a seven-point
lead late in the first half as Ken
ny Hicks and Dion Cross hit
