In total, Oregon made two of
20 shots, ami committed 16
turnovers in the first half But
the Ducks somehow staved in
the game with defense that
held the Beavers to 11 of 25
shooting and sent Oregon Slate
to the free throw line only
once
“When you shoot 10 percent,
you're lucky to give yourself
a chance." Oregon head coach
|erry Green said. “The good
thing about the first half was
our defense was decent."
The Ducks equaled their
first-half field goal total with

within five at 47-42. Then
things got wild.
Stoudamire was whistled for
a foul, and then Gn«c picked
up a technical foul. Charles
McKinney missed all three free
throws as a hostile Mac Court
crowd taunted him
Oregon State's Mustaphn

two minutes left, but McKin
ney was trailed for a foul and a
technical after pretending to try
and kick the referee
Stoudamire hit three of the
four free throws to make the
score 4(H5 with 1 49 left.
A frustrated McKinney then
threw an elbow after being
fouled by Oregon's Jon
Mitchell, and the Beaver was
thrown out of the game.
Oregon Stale's Pot Strickland
