Those against the proposal said they were trouhled by the site selection process and the possible danger to schoolchildren visiting the Willamette Science and Technology Center and the nearby plan etarium "We believe that the public process used to recommend the WIS TEC parking lot is flawed." said Jeff Foreman, representing the Lane Education Service District, which operates the planetarium. “We wore not contacted about the impact the proposed camp might have on our operations," he said. Foreman also said those concerned about locating the camp near residential areas, the Casanova Center or river trails should have applied the same standards to the children visiting W1STEC. "A school setting like the planetarium is not the appropriate set ting for a homeless car camp," Foreman said.
