The Ducks made a couple of

minutes left in the game
Oregon made one last come
back in the final five minutes as
its scrappy pressure defense
caused five Oregon State turn
overs in four minutes. Wil
liams, who was relatively ipiiet
for much of the second hail,
caught fire and sc ored 11 of the
Ducks' final 15 points.

After the game. Oregon coach
Jerry Green showed the obvious
distress that has been building
with each Duck loss.
"I didn't realize how hard
this season would l>e,” he said.
"It’s been real hard on me. and.
more importantly, on my play
ers.”
Stoudamire led Oregon with
35 points, but scored only nine
in the second half, thanks to a
Heaver defense that blocked
three of his shots in the hall.
Haskin finished with 32
points, leading four Beavers
who scored in double digits.
Williams and McKinney. —
who played against each other
in Portland at Benson and
Wilson high schools, respec
tively — both had season-highs.
