About :t5 fraternity members will have to move
out of the house, which is on campus grounds,
said college spokesman Earle Rommel Rommel
said the 3,000-student college will move to termi
nate its contra* t with the fraternity.
The action follows a fan. 4 event at the fraterni
ty house. Students said it was called "Dress I-ike
a Nigger Nigh!."
On Friday, the collage's Judicial Board heard
testimony from 20 witnesses about the hazing. In
vestigators said students pledging the fraternity
were ordered to wear clothing demeaning to
blacks and clean the fraternity house.
In addition to suspending the fraternity, mem
bers were fined $100 and ordered to apologize
and attend diversity workshops. Rommel said.
The fraternity has no blacks, but it does have
some non-white members One fraternity mem
tier. who wasn't identified, was suspended for
one year, Rommel said.
Just 6 percent of the student body at the private
college is black.
