Mike Murphy, a freshman
from Santa Monica High
School, didn't receive many
scholarship offers, so he chose
to attend the University.
Murphy, who averaged 12
points and eight rebounds his
senior season, saw an opportu

ball coach Don Monson was
fired.
Murphy approached the new
coach. Jerry Creen, and asked
him for an opportunity to prac

chance to practice and he even

Matney admits that practice
is tough at times, but he’s not
complaining.
"I'm having a lot of fun. es
pecially traveling." Matney
said. "The Great Alaskan
Shootout was a great experi
ence."
Green said he is pleased with
what the walk-ons have
brought to his program.
"Mike and Colby have done a
really good job for us and I am
pleased to have them on our
team." he said.
Bolton joined the squad at
the beginning of winter term.
