Ducks cruise to easy win over Weber State By Steve Mims fr^or a id Sports Reporter The Oregon women's basket* ball team got exactly what It needed Saturday night in a blowout with overmatched We ber State. Tho Ducks won 84-45 at MacArlhur Court to close out home stand thut included throes game in four nights. The Ducks, still smarting from a disappointing loss to No. 24 Dei’auI on Thursday, went on a 14-2 run early and led by 20 points just ten min utes into the game while on their way to stomping the Wild cats. The Ducks were able to play their entire roster during the blowout and gave some much needed rest to thoir starters. Forward Debbie Sporcich, the teams leading scorer and re bounder, played just 12 min utes and spent the second half nursing u bruise on tier foot. "That is a game I wish we could have had earlier," Ore gon head coach Klwin Heiny said. "Wo won; clearly the bet ter team. I was able to get ev eryone in and they got experi ence and were able to practice some things. That game was a lot of fun to play." Karen Healea made the most out of the opportunity to play, us she scored a career-high 16 points, grabbed five rebounds and had three steals. Guards foggy Swadonor and Jennifer Johansen also had ca reer highs with 14 and six points, respectively Swadonor was especially hot from long range where she made four of nine three-point shots. We her Slate scored the game's first two points before Oregon responded with a 27-5 run to pul! ahead by 20 points with 0:42 remaining in the first half. Three minutes later the Ducks began a 13-0 run that put them ahead 45-13 before they settled for a 40-10 halftime lead.
