Lighting it Up
When searching for entertainment this holi
day season, one doesn’t need to look far
Lane Transit District is offering a good
time for anyone interested in making new friends
while on the "ride of their life "
The Fourth Annual Holiday Lights Joyride will be
held on Saturday. Dec 19 through Wednesday.

"It's a great way to meet new faces and see the
lights all over town," said Michael Schumacker,
director of the LTDsponsored event
The public is invited to ride along with the folks of
Eugene and the surrounding area and listen to live
holiday entertainment while boarding the special
Holiday Lights Joy Ride buses
"Christmas tunes are played throughout the ride
and people in the past have brought thermoses for
refreshment during the trip,” Candus Langdon.a
1991 "joyrider* said “It’s great fun. and last year we
even had a whole loaded bus begin singing carols
along with the music.”
The tickets, which cost $1 75 per seat, go on sale
Monday, Dec 7 and will be available at Valley River
Center Customer Service Center near J.C. Penny's;
the Focal Point Optical Shop at 1550 Oak Street and
the LTD Customer Service Center at 10th Avenue
and Willamette Street Purchase them early because
they will be sold on a hrst-come-lirst-served basis.
"It’s become a real popular event, and every year
we've gotten at least 10 percent more people than
the year before.' said Ronnel Curry, coordinator of
the LTD "Joyride'' event "There are a lot of really
beautifully decorated homes and buildings in the
Eugene area that people don't realize are available
with light shows "
The buses depart at 6 and 7:30 p m on Dec 19
and 20; and at 6 30 and 8 00 p.m. on Dec 21, 22
and 23 The "Joyride" begins at LTD's Valley River
Center Station, located near Mr K's Restaurant.
