TV program Northern
Exposure, the Native
Americans in the fictional Alaskan
town of Cicily pelted the white
townspeople with tomatoes as a
protest for Thanksgiving
Native Americans on the Uni
versity campus didn't have such
an event, however Most Native
Americans celebrated the event
in the same manner as the rest of
the country
Thanksgiving is one holiday
that students of all backgrounds
agree on. It's about food and
families "Thanksgiving has lost
its religious connotations.'' said
University student Andy Wax
man "It gets celebrated because
it's American."
Elisabeth Alsen. who is from
Germany, said there is no
Thanksgiving in her country
although some people who live
outside of cities have harvest fes
tivals

they also have no Thanksgiving

"Everyone has turkey, but we
