of four basketball players who
will t>e inducted this weekend.
Lee is the only Duck player in
history to score more than 2.000
points and led Oregon to the
National Invitational Tournament
twice in the 1970s. Lee was a
three-time All-American selec
tion and a four-time all-league
performer
Oregon's 1939 basketball team,
the NCAA’s first-ever college bas
ketball champions, are one of the
three teams to be honored this
weekend. "The Tall Firs." as they
were railed, went 29-5 during the
season and lieat Ohio State 48-33
in the title game. The team’s
coach. Howard Hobson, will also
la; inducted.

1973-75; Charlie Warren (bas
ketball). 1959-62; Bev Smith (tms
ketball), >978-82; John Beckett
(football), 1913-16; Dick larnes
(football), 1952-54. John
Kitzmiller (football). 1928-30; Joe
Gordon (baseball), 1933-35; John
Miller (wrestling), 1988-70; and
Oregon’s 1916-17 Rose Bowl
champions.

will include plaques of all

Heliyer said Oregon plans to
induct five new members into
the Hall each year.
