    Two moms OK
Have you over seen your life
reflected by an external source?
And that reflection seems to be
twisting your life into an unfor
tunate mistake? A reflection
that is so skewed in relation to
the reality that you yourself
havu known?
I was raised in a loving
household that had its ups and
downs ! had a normal, happy
childhood and was taught val
ues that include acceptance as
well as equality among all peo
ple. I even have two moms —
two people who love mo. nur
ture me and give me an uncon
ditional foundation
Maybe we weren't legally
recognized as a family, but it
felt like u family, uctod like a
family, loved like u family —
the only conclusion I could log
ically come to was it was a fam
ily So you see, being raised by
a lesbian couple isn't all th.it
different than your average nu
clear — or nol-so-nucleur
family [Dun Quuyle would be
so disillusioned)
You knew the OCA Tit into
this somehow, huh? Well, they
have twisted my reality into a
perversion. We must slop and
question the reality of a group
who Is most definitely impos
ing its perceptions to fit its own
agenda. This group is not sav
ing the children — this group is
hateful and is trying to slowly
destroy our children

To vote...
I recently had the unnerving
experience of trying to register
people to vote at the Saturday
Market.
As I walked around asking
people if they had yet regis
tered, 1 was mot with state
ments like, "I hate Bush, and
hope that he burns in hell, but

represent the views of a great
many people between the ages
of HI and 25 and I find It fright

Whether we like It or not, our
generation will soon be respon
sible for the workings of this
nation and the world The
statements I heard at the Satur
day Market and our unwill
ingness to vote reflect our gen
eration's overwhelming apathy.
To those who claim to want
change, yet refuse to vote. I say
talk is cheap Voting should he
the first step toward making a
change in the system It should
come before verbal or physical
protest. To those who say they
