south for UCLA, USC
While the Oregon football
team must wait a week to play
the number one team in the
country, tho volleyball team
gets its shot at "number one”
tonight as the Ducks play
UCLA at Pauley Pavilion.
In rocont years, the Bruins
have built a volleyball dynasty
which nearly rivals tho schools
legendary basketball era of the
early 1970's NCAA champions
in both 1990 and 1991. tho
team has captured seven of the
past eight Pacific-10 Confer
ence titles.
The scary part for Par:-10 op
ponents is that this year’s Bruin
squad may be it's best ever.

Warren have been emerging as
team loaders. Warren recorded
a career-high 20 kills against
Oregon State and Woods has
raised her hitting percentage to
a team-high 2B2.
Things will get no easier for
thn Ducks on Saturday night as
they play Gth ranked University
of Southern California. USC
was supposed to have a re
building year, but the Trojans
have surprised everyone with a
5-1 record, good for second
place in the conference.
Ovor the years, the Ducks
have fared better uguinst the
Trojans than the Bruins, win
ning six of the last 15 matches.
Oregon last beat USC on the
road in 1W90.
