USC, not Coliseum,
worries 3-2 Oregon
By Dave Charbonneau
Emerald Sports Editor
Oregon head coach Rich
Brooks isn't worried about
playing in the Los Angelos
Coltsoum Saturday.
Ho's worried about the op
ponent.
The Ducks are on the road
for the first time in four
weeks and face 20th-ranknd
USC. Oregon has beaten the
Trojans only once In 16 tries
and haven't won at tho Coli
seum since 1971.
"It's not the place we're
playing, it's tho people we're
playing.” Brooks said. "If we
were playing somnono else
in the L.A. Collsoum, it
wouldn't bo that difficult.
It's the talent of their team,
and they want the same
thing wo want this week, to
got back in tho conforenco
race."
Oregon is 1-1 in tho Paclf
ic-10 Conforenco and USC is
0-1 after barely losing to
Washington last woekond in
Seattle. 17-10 Bowl hopos
are on both teams' minds,
and tho winner Saturday
will take a huge stop closer
to postseason play.
"Wo would be 2-1 In the
conference and 4-2 overall
and we'd be in position for
an outstanding year,”
Brooks said. "Another
loaguo victory over USC
would put us in the thick of
tho conference race.”
