according to testimony released Wednesday
Porol bIso Mid that In 1«R6, Vico President

of Perot's deposition last July to the Senate Select

In the deposition, committee legal counsel Wil
liam Cndlnha asked Perot if he had ever boon
warned of un assassination plot
"As I retail, the 1-1)1 told mo that.” Perot said
"They basically told me that they had sent a team
of people or sent representatives into Canada
with people from the United States, and the FBI
had inflltnitnd the group and hod a list. And they
just wanted me to know that my family and 1
were on the list."
The group Included members of the radical

the agency to Perot. She added that information
that old would bo accessible only through a for

In 1tW>9. Perot had embarked on his first POW
relaled excursion to Vietnam.
The alleged assassination plot was mentioned
only briefly in Perot's public testimony.
With the end of the Vietnam War, Perot became
interested in whether any POVVs were left behind.
Perot testified that he spent millions "out of my
own pocket” on trips to Southeast Asia to investi
gate the possibility that POWs were still being
held
Perot elaborated on n 19Bf> incident in which
Bush "failed me about a man in jail in Singapore
who claimed to have u videotape of POWs being
used as slave lalxirers.”
The man was nsking S4 2 million for the tape,
Bush told Perot, according to the deposition.
"The Vice President asked me if l would acquire
the tape and. if it were authentic, the U S. govern
ment would reimburse me."
But later. Perot said, Bush aide Donald Cregg
"called and said we've changed our policy. We
will not reimburse you." Perot said he asked to
speak to Bush and when Bush didn't call back,
Perot called him.
