itod by our budget,” Leebrick
said.
Moving on to mom elaborate
productions requires organizing
a theater season wilh regular
performances und u faithful au
dience The regulur season bo
gins this month with seven pro
ductionsplannod through June
of 1993
The first regular season offer
ing is a murder mystery dinner
theater, called "Who Killed
Frankie,” which will run on
Sundays through September
Leebtick said the show may go
on longer if there is demand,
but weather is a consideration
because the audience is outside
part of the time.
Audience participation is key
to the play, as ticket holders are
divided into groups of detec
tives to solve the mystery.
The plot unfolds as partici
pants travel around tovyn inter
viewing "suspects.” The uudi
ence then gathers ut Original
Joe's to eat dinner and piece to
gether the mystery.
Other upcoming productions
include performances for i>oth
children and adults.
Rich Shoelands, director of
operations at the Hull Center,
said building a following is a
make-or-break factor for most
theater companies
"They need to provide a sea
s o n of s o I i (i shows,"
Scheolands suiii. " That will
give them an economic founda
tion that's fairly solid."
Scheolands said creating a
faithful audience can open the
door for federal and private
grants.
"When you apply for grants
they want to see you track re
cord," Scheolands said. "They
want to sis: your track record
Over the past three years."
Tickets are available for
"Who Murdered Frankie?” ut
Original Joe's, or by calling
